A Moment of Reflection: Spoga 2016.

As August turned into September, the management team decamped to Cologne in order to construct the booth which was to be ScanCom’s home for this year’s Spoga trade fair. Over 39,000 visitors from 106 countries attended the trade fair this year, an increase of 6% on the 2015 show.

Beginning on Monday 29th August the team, led by Project Manager Ben Peadon, began work on building the booth. This year the design department opted for a frame finished in matt taupe which received very positive feedback for its sleek, light tones. With the Vietnam sales team flying in later in the week to help complete the build, the booth was finished on the Friday evening in good time for first day of the fair on the Saturday.

Before the show on Saturday morning, Ben Peadon gave a tour of the booth to the sales team and agents, with in-house designers Inbal Kahaner and Malene Lund Rasmussen taking time to talk everyone through the Montmartre and Lynton collections. With that everyone was fully briefed and raring to go.

Spoga was the first major opportunity to showcase Wide Duraboard® to the industry and a large, eye-catching display highlighting the key features of the unique material was a feature of the booth. The durability of the material was demonstrated by an operational weather testing unit built within one wall of the booth.

With customers flying in from far and wide the sales team were kept busy with meetings over the course of the show. Of course, there was still plenty of opportunity for networking and meeting new customers and potential clients in order to show them our product range.

This year there was focus on 5 key families: Nangalao, Lynton, Portals, Chamonix and Classica. Each of these families had a large poster in each corner of the booth and there was also extra marketing material that focussed on the key features the families. All of the families received positive feedback with the Nangalao being particularly well-received

Another big hit with visitors to the booth was the Tucana Set, with people really impressed with its modern design and tasteful colour combination.

Of course, the Spoga show would not be possible with the help of all the team in Vietnam. A lot of time, effort and dedication went into making the show a success and for that Group Commercial Director Rene De Kok would like to thank everybody for their efforts.

We will continue to strive for improvements in every department and build on this year’s success to continue “Doing ‘Business the Right Eay’ and make Spoga 2017 the best one yet!
