Job description

Position Overview:

Seeking a candidate for the role of Industrial/Furniture Design Trainee to contribute to the design and development of outdoor furniture for mass production with a strong commercial market appeal.

You will collaborate with various departments, engaging in the entire design process from conceptualization to the final production stage.

Location:

Our Vietnam office, situated in Dĩ An, Bình Dương (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam), is closely connected to our manufacturing facilities.
This allows for daily collaboration with the technical team, workshop, and factory, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Generate innovative design ideas and effectively communicate them to the team and/or Customers.
  • Transform concepts into 3D models and high-quality renders.
  • Translate design concepts to the technical team and oversee the prototype process.
  • Lead reviews and provide direction during the development stages.
  • Direct contact with customers, understanding briefs, and applying design expertise to meet requirements.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Design or Architecture, preferably with a focus on Product/Furniture.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for commercial design.
  • Proactive and flexible individual, demonstrating eagerness to learn and grow.
  • Team player with excellent coordination skills.
  • Proficient in sketching, rendering (paper or digital), and CAD skills (3D modelling & rendering)
  • Effective communication and presentation skills

 

Full proficiency in one or more of the following programs:

  • Autodesk 3ds Max
  • AutoCAD
  • Fusion 360
  • SOLIDWORKS
  • Rhinoceros 3D
  • Blender

 

Professional competency in:

  • Microsoft365 or equivalent
  • Adobe
    • Photoshop
    • Illustrator
    • InDesign

 

Bonus Requirements:

  • 2+ years of work experience, especially in the Indoor/Outdoor furniture industry.
  • Familiarity with typical furniture materials such as Wood, Aluminium, and Steel.
  • Understanding of production capabilities and practices.
  • Knowledge of construction and material when designing.
  • Competence in workshop activities (prototyping, workshop literacy) – desirable but not mandatory

 

Timeline:

Immediate start with a developmental period spanning over a two-year duration.
