ScanCom's Near-Term Climate Goals Approved by SBTi
We are proud to announce that our near-term emissions reduction targets have been officially approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This milestone underscores our commitment to being a responsible manufacturer, actively reducing our environmental impact, and driving real progress toward a low-carbon future.
What is SBTi?
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a globally recognized framework that helps businesses set greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets aligned with climate science. Companies that commit to SBTi follow a structured process to ensure their targets contribute meaningfully to limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
Scaling Up renewable Energy
As part of our near-term goals, we are making a bold commitment to drastically increase our use of renewable energy—by an incredible 10,000-fold, from 0,01% to 100% renewable energy. This shift will significantly reduce our carbon footprint and strengthen our ability to produce high-quality, responsibly manufactured furniture with lower environmental impact.
Our target base year is 2022, marking the beginning of our journey towards achieving these ambitious goals. Achieving approval for our near-term targets is a crucial step, but it’s just the beginning. We remain focused on continuously improving our responsibilities, from material sourcing to production and beyond.
By aligning with SBTi, we are taking meaningful action to combat climate change and set new standards for responsible manufacturing in the outdoor furniture industry. We look
forward to sharing our progress as we move forward on this journey.
