The evolution of ScanCom's digital production capabilities

ScanCom first started producing own plastic furniture almost 10 years ago. Since our own plastic factory was inaugurated in Vietnam, in 2015, the material has become a core material in ScanCom's designs, with multiple solutions on offer.

Sometimes good becomes better, and great becomes fantastic. Heading into 2024, ScanCom look forward to bringing our improved DuraBoard® to the market - alongside a world-first, digitally printed version of the unique table top material.

ScanCom is very excited and proud to announce the next chapter in our journey and history of Doing Business the Right Way – the opening of our brand-new Danish headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark!

We are overjoyed to share that – for the second year running – a ScanCom design have been awarded with the prestigious Red Dot Award for Product Design!

At ScanCom, as we have recently started the new season (the outdoor furniture manufacturing season starting in September, to be ready for the summer), we look back on one of the major successes, after what has been a difficult year or two – The Red Dot Award for our Stream Chair design!

On March 31st, 2022, ScanCom was announced as a recipient of the prestigious Red Dot Award in the category for Product Design. The distinction and honour has been awarded to the Stream Chair Platform; a unique plastic shell chair that has been designed specifically with the use of recycled plastic material in mind.

Teak is a premium hardwood that is traditionally found growing in the regions around south-east Asia and Oceania and is well-known for its fantastic properties relating to outdoor use, as well as its characteristic golden colour that will turn silver-grey over time if left untreated.

Hofheim-Wallau, Germany 30.06.2019. gardiente – Trade Fair for Garden Living - is always a highlight in the industry calendar and this year’s event proved to be no exception. The most significant cause for celebration came as the DuraOcean® chair scooped Bronze in a highly competitive field in the gardiente Outdoor Living Awards.

The ground-breaking DuraOcean® from LifestyleGarden®, the world’s first commercially available range of outdoor furniture made from nets, ropes and plastic waste recovered from the world’s oceans, triumphed over stiff competition to win the coveted Best New Product award at SOLEX 2019.

Interest in sustainable production and development continues to grow day by day. Rethinking an innovative way to reuse post-consumer waste to create eco-friendly designs that both look great and encourage a sustainable environment is now a must in the furniture industry.
