A. GENERAL JOB FUNCTION:
- Accountable for all activities in product development of product group from the construction drawing until the detail technical drawing of product in order to deliver a pass product within the right cost and lead-time.
B. RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & AUTHORITIES:
Main responsibility:
- Product development job:
o Understand test standards, customer protocols and quality handbooks to have good construction drawing, agree with Quality about all relevant tests to be done to pass tests
o Implement PDR, technical review TDR, FR review, Risk assessment to ensure quality of product
o Review and approve the CT, TD drawing, ECR and ECO before issuing to related dept./group
o Launch prototype, follow the tests results and find improvements solutions
o Report and escalate critical issues to support/discussion/sharing idea/decision
o Communicate effectively to TD’s customer (PM, IOC, Sale, Prod Unit) and TD’s groups (PPM, PTP, TDWS, PA team, cushion) for quick problem solving solution & suitable action to keep PFD/ETA’s commitment
o Apply ECO follow ECO procedure
o Together with related department, review and solve the problem in mass production
o Study and support Production Units on technical issue and/or improvement of product
- Management job:
o Manage and be responsible for product development, mass product and ECO
o Control and keep ETA’s drawing on time
o Develop Technical Engineers to improve their competences in process development, standardization, problem solving, decision making, CAD construction, Quality standard, FMEA, Poka Yoke, production process and communication skill
o Together with TD planning, develop capacity and agree CT/TD drawing lead time
- Key Success Factors:
o Products are deliver on time, passed all relevant tests with the target price TPTP.
o Improve the first pass rate of prototype to first time accepted by customer & tested (status 15)
o Measure, stabilize and improve development Lead-time (status 06 to 38) (existing hardware).
o Measure and improve standardization rate for Profiles (alu, wood) steel, HW and Duraboard
o Competences and way of working are developed to apply Scancom standards
o Support other groups to develop better products based on material knowledge
o Share best practices among TD team and other departments
o Deliver cost saving saving projects on key top runner
C. WORKING RELATIONSHIP:
1. Internal:
- PM, SALES VN/Sales, CDD, M-PPD, W-PPD, QA, PU and Production Units in
SCVN.
- Communicate TD - R&D Senior Manager directly on the daily job, the assigned
projects and basic report.
2. External:
- Communicate with customer to propose and agree on design solutions
- Communicate with CM about the technical drawing
- Material suppliers if need
- Contact hardware supplier for mold design, hardware quotation, order and sample

3.1 Superior: TD – R&D Senior Manager
3.2. Subordinate: Technical Engineer
D. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:
Must requirement:
- College/Bachelor Degree major in Mechanic or any of Technical field
- At least 05 years working experience in Technical field including R&D, Product
Development, Mechanic, Engineering or Project Management
- At least 02 years in management position
- Knowledge of Technical software as CAD, Inventor, or Pro Engineer, or Mechanical Desktop
Important requirement
- Experience in Aluminum production or Furniture Development is advantage
- Strong leadership, good organization, motivation, honest, integrity and problem
solving skill
- Good communication in English
- Strong experience with project management in a multi-project environment
